Nearly a third of Romanians have an exaggerated convex facial profile, due to development abnormalities of the maxillary bones. This is not just an aesthetic issue, but one that also has serious health consequences, such as troubled breathing.
The dento-maxillary abnormality treatment implies a close collaboration between the orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon. The patient arrives at the orthodontist and the latter prescribes him/her a treatment that can be surgical or not. The orthodontist should explain to the patient that the surgery is also an option.

The first clinic specialized in orthognatic surgery in Romania was launched
